French 75
hello i am a hidden space!
The French 75, a timeless and effervescent cocktail, has its roots in World War I-era France. Named after the powerful French 75mm field gun, this libation is said to pack a punch similar to the artillery it was named after. The classic recipe combines gin, champagne, simple syrup, and lemon juice, creating a sophisticated and bubbly concoction. While its precise origin is debated, it is commonly attributed to Harry's New York Bar in Paris, with claims that it was first concocted in 1915. Over the years, the French 75 has evolved into a symbol of elegance and celebration, favoured for its crisp and citrusy profile that beautifully complements the effervescence of champagne. Whether sipped in the Roaring Twenties or enjoyed today, the French 75 remains a sparkling testament to the enduring allure of classic cocktails.
