HOW TO MAKE A MAI TAI
Ingredients:
- 25 ml Gold Rum
- 25 ml Dark Rum
- 25 ml Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- 15 ml Grand Marnier Liqueur
- 15 ml Orgeat Syrup
- 15 ml Sugar Syrup
- Ice Cubes & Crushed Ice
- Mint sprig & a Lime Wheel, for garnish
1. Combine Ingredients:
- In a shaker, add gold rum, Grand Marnier, fresh lime juice, orgeat syrup and sugar syrup.
2. Add Ice & Shake Well
- Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
- Shake the ingredients vigorously for about 10-15 seconds to chill the mixture.
3. Strain into the Glass:
- Strain the mixture from the shaker into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice.
4. Top with Dark Rum:
- Top the drink with the dark rum. Pour evenly in a circular motion to ensure an even distribution.
5. Garnish & Serve:
- Garnish with a lime wheel and a sprig of mint. You can also slap the mint between your hands before placing it on top to release its aroma.
