HOW TO MAKE A RUM OLD FASHIONED
Ingredients:
- 50 ml Premium Aged Rum
- 1 Sugar Cube (or 15 ml Sugar Syrup)
- 2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters
- Large Ice Cubes
- Orange peel, for garnish
1. Prepare the Sugar Cube & Add Bitters:
- If using a sugar cube, place it in the glass. If using sugar syrup, skip this step.
- Add 2-3 dashes of Angostura Bitters directly onto the sugar cube.
2. Muddle:
- Muddle the sugar cube with the bitters to dissolve it. If using sugar syrup, add it directly to the glass.
3. Add Rum & the Ice:
- Pour the rum over the muddled sugar and bitters.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes.
4. Stir:
- Stir the ingredients well to chill the mixture. Stirring also helps to further dissolve the sugar.
5. Express the Orange Peel, Garnish & Serve:
- Hold a piece of orange peel over the drink and give it a twist to release its oils. Optionally, run the peel around the rim of the glass.
- Drop the twisted orange peel into the drink as a garnish
- Your Rum Old Fashioned is now ready to be enjoyed! Sip and savour the rich and nuanced flavours of this tropical twist on a classic cocktail.
Cheers!
