The Espresso Martini, a dynamic and invigorating cocktail, marries the worlds of coffee and mixology to create a caffeinated masterpiece. Its origins can be traced back to the 1980s, credited to the legendary bartender Dick Bradsell in London. The story goes that a patron asked Bradsell for a drink to "wake me up and then f*** me up," and thus, the Espresso Martini was born. Comprising vodka, coffee liqueur (such as Kahlúa), freshly brewed espresso, and a touch of simple syrup for balance, this concoction is shaken over ice and strained into a martini glass. The resulting libation is a harmonious blend of rich coffee flavours, the kick of vodka, and the sweetness of the liqueur. The Espresso Martini has since become a global sensation, celebrated for its ability to provide both a caffeine boost and a delightful alcoholic indulgence in a single glass.
