Whiskey Sour
hello i am a hidden space!
The Whiskey Sour, a classic cocktail renowned for its harmonious blend of sweet, sour, and spirit, has a history dating back to the 19th century. Its roots are often traced to naval practices, where sailors used citrus to prevent scurvy and mixed it with spirits to mask the taste of inferior liquors. By the mid-19th century, the Whiskey Sour had made its way into cocktail manuals, solidifying its place in mixology. The standard recipe involves whiskey, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup, shaken with ice and strained into a glass. The Whiskey Sour's enduring popularity can be attributed to its versatility, with variations emerging over the years, such as the Boston Sour with the addition of egg white. This timeless libation remains a favourite among cocktail enthusiasts, celebrated for its balance and the vibrant interplay of flavours that stand the test of time.
