The story of Hacienda Santa Teresa began in 1796 with the cultivation of coffee, cocoa, and sugar cane - the primary ingredients used in the production of rum. Fast forward to 1830 when a young German merchant, Gustav Julius Vollmer, arrived in Venezuela and crossed paths with Panchita Rivas, a woman with a revolutionary spirit. The two fell in love and were married that same year, giving birth to the Vollmer family. Today, their descendants are the ones who manage the operations of Santa Teresa.
